NLP Practitioner Training at the Centre for Personal and Professional Development, Norwich
NLP article by Sean Hall
As a qualified trainer, I recently enrolled on a NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) course in Norwich. As this course deals with the way we communicate I believed it would help me with my own profession. However I wasn’t expecting to find out as much about myself and others and the infinite possibilities available to me, especially as most people I had spoken to had no idea what NLP was about.
Essentially NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a key to reaching goals and achieving excellence. You can achieve your dreams (for the future) and identify barriers that may be holding you back, and remove the unwanted habits and behaviours that are standing in the way. This has already been very productive for me, for example; in a business context I was discussing training with a potential customer and through verbal and non verbal NLP techniques I was able to build a strong rapport with a difficult customer. Additionally when it comes to my family, I find myself acting differently, calmer and more sensitive to their feelings. One of the most interesting developments has been my attitude towards everything, I feel as if everything can be achieved by changing my perception, and with that attitude I have already coped and succeeded where I would previously have failed. That in itself is proof enough for me.
NLP can help you understand your partner's and children's needs and communication styles more fully, enhancing rapport and communication and recognising how others are using language to influence you.
NLP is the science and creativity of how the brain codes learning and experience. This coding affects all communication and behaviour. It affects how you learn and how you experience the world around you. The course is unlike anything you have ever done before, delivering a unique and stimulating experience for the body and mind.
The NLP experience requires you to have an open mind and encourages participation from all members of the group. There is a maximum of 15 people on each course which allows the trainers to give plenty of individual attention to promote a tailored learning experience.
I was happy to see such a variety of people who had enrolled in the course ranging from doctors, therapists, accountants and teachers, all of which wanted to apply the techniques to their chosen professions. Many have already experienced significant positive changes to the way they communicate and live their lives.
John Plester who runs the NLP and hypnosis courses has trained with Paul Mckenna and regularly assists him with his UK training seminars. John is assisted by Joy Gower, a Hypnotherapist and NLP Trainer. The NLP Practitioners certificate takes four weekends over consecutive months to achieve and is the only course in East Anglia of this nature to be officially recognized by the world’s largest NLP certification and quality assurance organization, the Society of NLP.
